Is Verizon movie creator collecting biometric data of uploaded faces?

Is Verizon's Action Hero movie creator collecting biometric data of uploaded faces?

Perhaps I'm overly sensitive to 'Them' collecting our data, from being a long time reader of Dr. Begich's books on privacy, and Glen Roberts web site on privacy, but, the first thing that came to mind when I looked at the Action Hero link was "What a great way for them to collect biometric data!".

After you upload your face, what do they do with the data? The paranoid person in me thinks they will use this to gather lots of faces to add to a data base, to what end I do not know, yet. This is a great way for them to gather faces, and they have people doing the work for them. How many of them have they already gotten?

Verizon won't even bring DSL to my house, I can't see them spending their time and money to set this up without some nefarious purpose behind it.

I have been studying the site carefully and I'm convinced there is more to learn. I think someone inside is trying to warn us about something...
